Our family was reeling from the loss of my son in a tragic accident. Matthew helped us through this extremely difficult time with such personal care and comfort. He created so many thoughtful pieces to celebrate our son’s life, including a beautiful tribute video that really captured his unique and fun-loving spirit. At my request, Matthew played Eye of the Tiger at the end of the interment service. Those closest to our son knew how significant that song was to him – it was a truly touching and unforgettable moment and I’m so grateful that Matthew made it happen. Fowler – Kennedy Funeral Home Is fantastic! We can not thank Matt enough for all that he did for our family. Our mother’s memorial/wake was amazing! Matt sat down with us and just talked about mom. He made a really difficult time so much easier. He asked us to bring in pictures and anything that represented her that we wanted to share. Mom made many items for her grand children so we brought them in along with other things that represented who she was. He said he would take care of the collage for us and also set everything up so we= didn’t have to do any of it. That made life so much easier. When we brought in the pictures of mom, Matt sat down with us and went through them. We talked about our memories of mom and had a good chuckle looking at the pictures.

The night of the wake when I walked in it took my breath away. I was blown away by the beautiful collage! Then I saw her name, it was made into a wall hanging. He took parts of her life that we talked about in our conversation, and put them into the picture. It blew me away! Then I saw all the things she made, put out on display It really was remarkable. Next I walked into the 2nd room and saw a puzzle that was printed and made. Next to it was a beautiful saying. One small section was put together. It was a picture of her with the rest of the pieces scattered all around it. By the end of the night it was completed by everyone. We also brought 2 very large collages that we made that day. They were some of the pictures that we hadn’t found when we gave him the rest of the pictures. He displayed them immediately. Next I saw a very large picture of mom. It was put out for people to sign and write a message on. It is so priceless! More of her home made things were displayed perfectly in that room along with a TV screen scrolling through all the pictures we brought Matt. Then in the 3rd room, where we spoke with everyone, Matt placed more of moms personalized things. Again I had my breath taken away. One of the pictures we discussed was made into a large print. I couldn’t believe it. Then there was a blanket with other pictures. My favorite most recent picture of mom with most of her granddaughters, enjoying a group hug. All of them with large sincere smiles. Enjoying a priceless moment together! A great lasting happy vision for everyone to see and enjoy. I went back into the first room and noticed the beautiful guest book for people to sign. Again, full of her pictures. Amazing! There were also wonderful memory cards made by the funeral home with moms picture and a quote we selected for anyone to take home.

Everything was so perfectly personalized. So many people commented that we must have spent all day there setting up. I made sure everyone knew it was all Matt and Fowler – Kennedy Funeral Home! Thank you Matt. You are a true gift to people who have lost a loved one. You are so personable and easy to talk to. Thank you for listening and taking note of all the small details. You helped to make our personal loss a wonderful end of life celebration. Mom couldn’t have had a better farewell. It was a great way for us to say goodbye- until we meet again.

Dear Matt and Staff, I can’t say enough about what you did for Mathew. I have only been to a few wakes in my life, but none of them can compare to what you did. When I walked in and saw everything you and your staff did, I was speechless and started crying just because I knew that everyone who walked in would know our son like I would want them to. The slide show, the puzzle, the photo collage over the fireplace, the easel picture for their testimonials and especially the sign with his name on it by the guest book were incredible. You even supplied thank you cards with the collage photo on it. A coworker said that listening to Mathew’s friends recounting stories prompted by the photos gave him an insight into Mathew’s life he wouldn’t have otherwise. Every room displayed your creative, caring, tasteful and respectful approach to Mathew and reflected the love we all feel for him. I don’t think any other funeral home would have put his Pink Floyd banner on the wall behind him, but that is how people knew him and I know it made a huge difference. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Thank you from the bottom of
our hearts.

I know I have said this many times before, but I just wanted to reiterate how amazing you are, and how wonderful you have been to my Dad. And I know my Mom was so proud and thankful for the wonderful job you did. She didn’t want anyone else to take care of her, and she told me on numerous occasions that she was so proud of you and what you have accomplished. I know we all have known each other for so long, but it truly felt like family watching over my Mom while she was in your hands.
